Synopsis
In 1948 Virginia, aspiring football star Joe rejoices when Miller Park gets its very own sandlot football team. Though they’re small, they’re mighty...but do a ragtag team of blue-collar underdogs stand a chance against their big-time, big-city, big-rich competitors? Take a seat in the stands and find out in this heartwarming tale of sports and friendship based on a true story.
"As a non-profit community theatre, we needed a play whose cast included players of all ages. So, our teams of middle school-aged boys were played by both male and female actors, ages 7 to 24. In addition to the eleven Mighty Mites, we cast 15 others who played the parents and coaches, cheerleaders, opposing teams, and community members.
