
Christmas Eve, 1971. In a sleepy Pennsylvania coal mining town, the Vietnam War continues to cast its pall as 17-year-old Janey and 19-year-old Mick finish up their shift in the local diner while midnight draws close. As they search for a quiet place to share the advent of Christmas Day, the two young lovers are forced to confront news that threatens to change their lives forever.
